ITHAOPA VOLUNTOURISM
Live like a local, have fun and contribute to genuine community and wildlife upliftment. Come and experience the warmth and soul of South Africa!
For a unique and very real life experience, join us for an adventure that will open you to new realities and take you inward to experience the tangible soul and the warmth of Africa. Becoming a voluntourist gives you the opportunity to combine your meaningful skills in exchange for adventure and sightseeing on grass roots level.
We honour your individuality and therefore offer you the choice of joining us on an all inclusive Ithaopa stay on any of the projects we offer and you determine the length of your stay. In essence, our fee paying volunteers combine meaningful service with safe travels and experience the culture, lifestyle and wildlife that South Africa has to offer, first-hand.
We are committed to the growth of all individuals and not to driving profits, therefore, any profits generated from Ithaopa are contributed back into the projects and community we assist. Ithaopa is supported by proud South Africans who live and work closely with the projects and we look forward to hosting you on your journey of self discovery, service and adventure! |

CARBON FOOTPRINT
Part of our Carbon Footprint program includes reclaiming land that has been subjected to overgrazing, soil erosion and invader plant species. Voluntourists help eradicate invader plant species manually. Your contribution will increase grazing capacity in the reserve, as well as preserve the topsoil.
Areas that are bare due to soil erosion or invader plants (left) are packed with invader species that have been cut down, such as sickle bush. this enables grass seeds to get caught up and establish a good root system, before game is able to access the area. The packed branches rot after a season or two and game can fully access the now recovered areas.
